Education – James E. Davis School
The Home’s school is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and serves grades 6 through 12. Youth typically begin their academic experience at the school with the opportunity to transition part or full time to Lebanon public schools after they have made improvements academically, behaviorally and emotionally. Key elements to the Home’s educational experience include effort, attitude and behavior. A discipline program, which is geared toward incorporating the Teaching Family Model principles, redirects negative attitudes and inappropriate behavior in the classrooms.
Other educational opportunities available at the Home include: High School Diploma, Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), certificate of completion and a summer school program.
Each parent and student applying to James E. Davis School are asked to fill out an application for enrollment, provide a financial statement for scholarship opportunities, sign a release to obtain records form and speak to previous schools and be interviewed by the principal and dean of students. Acceptance decisions would be made by a student selection committee and parents would be notified shortly thereafter. In order to ensure that most parents will be able to afford the private school education offered by James E. Davis School, a flexible tuition based on annual income will be offered to aide parents financially.
